Rebel 40 year anniversary reissue - Signed and numbered - Black dip - ON HOLD

This Product is Currently Unavailable

THE BAD NEWS is that when I was prepping the black dip decks to sign and number, I noticed a quality issue with the finish on enough of them that I decided that they just can’t go out the door to you today.

THE GOOD NEWS is that the teal “rider” Rebels look amazing and are good to go, it’s a super fun 80’s pig in the original shape with screen printed graphics just like they were when the first batch blasted out of my parents garage in 1985.

So yeah…I’m pretty damn bummed I can’t get you a signed reissue right now but don’t worry, we’ll figure out how to get them to the quality that I’m stoked on and that you expect from Blockhead and launch those at a later date to be announced.  -DB

In 1985, somewhere right around my 21st birthday I launched Blockhead in my parents Nor-Cal garage with 3 models, Streetstyle, Chaos and Rebel.  As a fan of old mobster and crime movies, Dick Tracy etc. I inked the Rebel graphic with the thugs in the car shouting “SKATE!” (Alan Chilton inked that first Blockhead logo). It was one of my first experiments with graphic design and screen printing.

After the skatepark crash at the end of the 70’s/early 80’s, skateboarding was on life support, there were only 2-3 other kids at my large high school that even skated.  We were loners, rebels and outcasts picked on by the jocks but we didn’t give a shit, we liked it that way....skateboarding was ours!

With a network of like minded shredders from other schools, other areas of town and even friends we’d meet on trips to SF, Chico, Tahoe, Santa Cruz and the Central Valley we had an amazing underground scene of backyard ramps, ditches, pools and late night street spots.  Some of my greatest memories of skateboarding come from that early/mid 80’s period when skateboarding was not cool at all, the Rebel board takes me right back there.

These are screen printed just like they were in 1985 and there’s two color combos to choose from.  This will be the last time we do the Rebel with old school holes and signed and numbered, only 30 made so you best grab one pronto!
